Second Briton dies at Magaluf resort in Majorca
Published: 22nd Apr 2012 15:35:33
A man from London has died after falling from a balcony at a hotel in Magaluf - the second Briton to die at the Spanish resort in three days.
Benjamin Harper, 28, from Twickenham, fell to his death at the four-star Sol Antillas hotel in Majorca on Friday.
Three days prior Adam Atkinson, 20, of Castleford, West Yorkshire, died. He is thought to have fallen down stairs.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said it was providing consular assistance.
Mr Harper's friends from the Sussex Arms pub in Twickenham posted on Facebook: "RIP local man Ben Harper, such a lovely bloke and character.
"Such a tragedy and too soon for a man with such energy and life."
A spokesman for the FCO said: "We are aware of the death of a British national in Majorca, Spain, on April 20.
"We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time."
The hotel has not made any comment.
